Lincoln County is now accepting applications for the following positions. Applicants for all positions must be 18 years of age, have a high school diploma or GED, and possess a valid Class “A” CDL Driver’s License with manual transmission, or be willing to obtain one within 6 months of employment.
This position executes the planning, organizing and directing of employees in the department. Duties include scheduling of work assignments, supervising employees and monitoring quality of work. This position assists with records, purchases of equipment and materials and serves as department safety officer. This employee will assume the responsibility of the Director in his absence. This employee must be able to work without supervision and be able to handle projects simultaneously.
This positions primary responsibilities include general bookkeeping and secretarial duties. This position also maintains records, purchases needed work materials, assists with scheduling work assignments, and dispatches. This employee must be able to work without direct supervision and be able to handle numerous job responsibilities at one time. Excellent organizational, communication and public relation skills and handling confidential information is required.
This employee is responsible for the proper maintenance and repair of department equipment and machinery. Thorough knowledge of mechanics, welding, measuring and a working knowledge of mathematics is necessary. Ability to read and interpret manuals and follow mechanical outlines for repair is required. This employee should be able to write legibly and fill out service sheets without assistance. This employee must have the ability to be a self-starter and keep a look out for potential problems during general maintenance on equipment. This employee should have good organizational, public relations, and oral and written communication skills. This employee needs to be able to adapt to changing technology.
Equipment Operator – Full-Time
The primary responsibilities of this employee include operating road maintenance equipment for the maintenance, repair or building of county transportation facilities and other county owned entities. Providing a safe public transportation system is the goal of this employee. This employee must be able to work with minimum direct supervision.
Truck Driver – Full-Time
This employee must have a thorough knowledge of rules and regulations and laws for safe operation and driving of commercial vehicles is required. This employee must possess strong mechanical skills. The ability to operate loaders, graders, trucks, and other heavy equipment is preferred. The ability to understand and interpret written instructions, maps, schematics, manuals, reports, regulations, and other written material is required. This employee should have good organizational, public relations, and oral and written communication skills. Applicant must possess a valid Class “A” CDL Driver’s License with manual transmission.
