The study of Exoplanets
A Library Program for Adults, Teens and older school-age children

Presented by former Central Kansas Library Consultant Chris Ripple, this program will look at the science of finding planets around other stars.

Since 1995, astronomers have found 4,000 planets orbiting other stars. You can help find more. Together we will use a “citizen science” website, Zooniverse, to use real data from the TESS space telescope to find more planets.

Finding planets around other stars is the first step in finding planets with life.

After this presentation, you will be able to use any Internet-linked computer to look for more planets yourself.

We are living in a golden age of astronomy. Come and participate.
