Lincoln County Historical Society Annual Meeting
2018 LCHS Annual Meeting
The LCHS annual meeting will be held from 7 – 9 pm at the museum complex on Monday, Sept. 17, 2018. Come early, explore the museum and preview the new exhibit “Frontier Days”. Doors will open at 6 pm. Refreshments will be served at 6:30 pm, with the annual meeting beginning at 7 pm. Voting for new Board Members will take place during the meeting.

This will be followed by the program: Mike Day, a well-known historian of these events, will present facts about the Forsyth Scouts and the Spillman Creek Indian Raids of 1869.  In 1868 General Phil Sheridan commissioned Major George Forsyth to raise a 50 man company of Army Scouts to help track some renegade Indians who were raiding farms in this area. These Scouts were local farmers, many from Lincoln County. They were known as the Forsyth Scouts.

Please mark your calendar NOW for this annual event!
