Lincoln County First Rural Fire Department

The Lincoln County First Rural Fire Department is a team of volunteers that works together with the City of Lincoln Fire Department to respond to all grass and structure fires within the central part of Lincoln county and the City of Lincoln. The rural and city fire departments respond and act as one department. Lincoln County First Rural Fire Department also provides mutual aid to all structure fires in all the fire departments within the entire county.

The First Rural Fire Department responds with 6 trucks including 3 small brush trucks designed to fight grass fires, a 4X4 pumper truck, a tanker truck and a crash truck. The 12-man team of volunteers is currently lead by Chief Michel O’Hare and Assistant Chief Greg Babcock. They meet the third Monday of every month to train and maintain equipment. There are currently 2 openings for volunteers.
